Two Metra rail lines have stations near the Woods of Ivanhoe and offer convenient access to Chicago's Loop.

• Milwaukee District North stations - Grayslake and Prairie Crossing stations are each three (3) miles and Libertyville is five (5) miles
• North Central stations - Mundelein and Prairie Crossing stations are each three (3) miles
• North Central Line - also stops at the O'Hare Transfer Station for connections to O'Hare
